Hi! Welcome to my corner of the internet. I am Mélanie (Mel for short) Johnsson, a freelance illustrator and graphic designer originally from France. I moved to the UK in 2014 and now call Margate my home. I illustrate and design for brands across different fields (from homeware and stationery to fashion and editorial) but I also love to work with passionate individuals. I prioritise working with sustainable brands which reflect my own values as well as brands who consciously spread love and joy.

I spend most of my free time painting, baking, reading and being active in some way. Although, to be honest with you, I don’t have that much free time as I’m also a mum to two amazing little girls. Respectively born in 2021 and 2024.

I am a long-time vegetarian who loves matcha, cheese (I am French after all!), beautiful magazines, art supplies shops, sea animals, jumping from airplanes, kite surfing, surfing, and waking up early to catch the sunrise on my runs.
